"You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you."
What promises!
Fruit = 1) obedience, 2) Sharing the gospel, 3) Fruits of the Spirit
The hardest thing to hear this past Sunday was that we can all practice good deeds and give good counsel, but unless they receive life from the living water, implying that I am connected to the vine of Christ, then all the counsel and good deeds I give is dead. The implication of that is huge, since in the medical profession, all we do is educate, counsel, advise. The scariest thing is to give to counsel that doesn't bring life or hope, but in the grand scheme of things, is dead. Useless and meaningless words. That's scary.
I pray that I may stay connected to the Vine so that the fruit I do bear is good fruit, and remains as promised in John 15:16.
